Product Overview

Chemically treated pet film is used when ordinary PET film is too inert for stable bonding with ink, adhesive, primer, coating, or laminated layers. The chemical coated side improves wet-out, so inks, lacquers, hard coatings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and functional coatings can spread more evenly across the surface. This chemical coated PET film helps reduce adhesion changes after drying, curing, winding, storage, or later lamination.

The film can be produced as one-side chemically treated PET film, two-side treated PET film, or one chemical coated side with the reverse side corona treated or untreated. Printing needs the treated side facing the ink system, while lamination needs it facing the adhesive or coating layer. If the roll is used in the wrong direction, ink lifting, adhesive beading, coating shrinkage, fish-eyes, pinholes, or low peel strength may appear.

How should the treated side be identified before printing, coating, or lamination?

The treated side should be confirmed before ink, adhesive, or coating is applied. Appearance alone is not enough because both sides may look nearly the same. Dyne pens, dyne solution, roll direction labels, treated-side marks, or a small ink and coating trial can be used. On the correct surface, test liquid should wet out evenly instead of shrinking into droplets. Stored rolls should be checked again after long storage, high humidity exposure, or temperature change.

What is the difference between corona treated PET film and chemically treated PET film?
