Hot melt adhesive film is supplied as a controlled thermoplastic layer rather than a liquid coating. Under heat and pressure, the film softens, flows across the bonding interface and sets as the laminate cools. This supports clean, repeatable roller lamination. In ACP production, a thermoplastic hot melt adhesive film forms the bonding layer between the aluminum layer and panel core. Selection should be based on the full laminate structure, not film thickness alone.
The range includes general hot melt bonding film, ACP bonding film, aluminum-sheet bonding grades and thermal bonding adhesive film for metal-to-plastic composites. Single-side and two-side structures are available for different panel layouts. EVA, PE-based and other polyolefin-based grades can be matched to activation window, melt flow and wetting behavior.
For projects using hot melt adhesive film for aluminum sheet, the final grade should be checked with the actual aluminum surface, core formulation and equipment. A film suited to a standard polyethylene core may need a different trial window when aluminum thickness, core composition or line speed changes.
Start with the laminate structure and line setup. Aluminum-layer thickness, core material, panel width, heating method and line speed all influence the interface temperature. Do not approve an adhesive film for aluminum sheet from the machine setting alone. Confirm actual bond-line temperature, lamination pressure and dwell time during trial production.
The aluminum surface also deserves attention. Oil residue, oxidation or inconsistent pre-treatment can reduce adhesion even with the same film grade. A slow-activating film may leave dry areas or weak edges. Excessive melt flow can make the bond line harder to control. For repeat production, record approved thickness, roll width, winding direction, line settings and test method.
Use the first trial panels to inspect the full working width, not only the center area. Check edge bonding, bubbles, local voids, panel waviness and thickness consistency after controlled cooling. When results vary across the width, adjust the pressure profile, heating balance or line speed before changing film thickness. This helps separate equipment variation from film-grade selection and avoids unnecessary repeat trials.

For repeat orders, also confirm slit width, roll-core compatibility, winding direction, roll label format and lot reference against the retained trial panel. This makes receiving inspection and later batch comparison easier to manage across the same production program. If a new core formulation or aluminum surface treatment is introduced, submit updated samples before repeat production so the retained reference does not mask a process change. Clear roll identification also reduces mix-ups when several grades are stored near the lamination line.
Recheck peel strength whenever the aluminum surface, core material, film thickness, line speed, heating profile or lamination pressure changes. Produce trial panels with the actual materials, allow the structure to cool, and record specimen width, test method and process conditions. Compare the results with the retained reference panel before approving the next batch.
